Roskilde 2009

I dislike most things about festivals. The mud, living in a tent - especially since it always rains, being dirty all the time, drunk people who scream the wrong lyrics to "There Is A Light That Never Goes Out" all night long, the smell - oh god, the horrid, horrid smell - of piss and puke everywhere, getting sick on the second day and stumbling around with a fever for the rest of the time, being unable to get away from people for even a few minutes, feeling drained from the constant high level of noise and stress...

Having said all that, look on this band list, ye mighty, and despair. See, the music makes it all worth it (almost). I am prepared to feel like shit for one week, give or take a few days, every year if it means I can go to as many gigs as I want during that time.

I kind of want to go to Arvika Festival too, but Roskilde just seems a liiitle bit better. They have Marissa and Nick Cave after all. Now, who wants to spend a fuckload of money, that they really should save, on short notice?
